Target Audience

My Target audience for my video would be children and teenagers. This is because the song is a dance, up-beat song and the people that would be most likely to listen to/ watch the video would be the younger generation. I feel that my plan for my video is suitable for this target audience and they would enjoy watching it, as it includes lots of colours and it is funny. The song is also very catchy and is most likely to stick in children/teenagers brains and have them singing it all through the day.

Location Shots

Filming for my film took place in various areas. These include:

The Leight Technology Academy - Film/photography studio
School Canteen
School Stairs
Lecture Theatre
My home
Dartford Town - Prospect place
Dartford Park

I think these were appropriate locations to film for my video as they each had a reason.

I filmed at my school, because I wanted to create an atmosphere of dancing in a school, so it looked like the school aged children were taken with the song and liked to dance to it. This is because my target audience was around the child/teenager age.

I filmed at my house as it was the setting for the 'children dancing' scenes. I wanted to create the look that anyone at home can get up and dance to it.

I filmed in Dartford park to make it seem like the dancers were out in the park then heard the song and started to dance. It created a fun aspect to the film.

I wanted to film in Dartford Town (Prospect place) as it was a good setting for the story line of the male actor and female dancers. This is because I wanted it to look like he was in the town walking around acting like he was the 'bomb'.

Email conformation

This is the email that I wrote to the record company to ask permission to use their song for my video.

Risk Assessment

Before filming, I had to consider certain things. These were:

Weather: as it was October when i did my filming, I had to consider what the weather was going to be like. As my song was happy and a dance song, it suggests sun, so I wanted to film on sunny days. Fortunately, the days that i filmed in Dartford, the weather was bright and sunny so it worked well for me.

Location: I also had to take into consideration where abouts I was going to film. I had to make carefull decisions about what locations would be most appropriate for my video. I also had to make sure that it was ok to film where I did and that nothing got in the way to stop me from filming in those particualr locations.

Organisation: One thing that was a major risk was the organistation of the dance scene filming. I had to make sure that all the actors and actresses were on time and check who was actually coming to be in the film. This could be difficult because I did the filming during school time whcih meant that some people woulndt be able to make it as they were in lessons, so I had to work around this.

Production Log and Screen Shots of Editing

These are a few pictures of the process of editing the green screen videos.

Putting together the video was tricky. Especially becuase the song i chose was very long and fast, which meant i had to change the clip every 3 or 4 seconds. This meant a lot of hard work planning and shooting different clips that were good enough to link together and create a good flow to the video. It took me along time when editing to do this as I had to cut the clips and choose which clips were better adn in some places I had to cut the same video several times in order to create the effect I wanted to achieve. I would say putting the clips together took around a month or concentrated hard work.

After this, the real editing took place. Adding effects and changing colours, and using
after effects to keylight green screen video's. This was enjoyable but it also took a long time to accomplish. I used 'change colour' to adapt the colours of some clips so it would look bright. I also cropped clips and dublicated them so that i could make split screens as well as using the replicate effect too.

In After effects I edited green screen video's and changed themto fill the actor with colour to give it an itunes (advert) effect. This made a strong effect on the whole video as the colours really stand out.

Here are a few pictures of my video during editing.

Production Log of How Filming Went

My filming so far has been going great! I have already filmed the Park and Town scenes. The weather was brilliant when i filmed the Town and park scenes, which was good as it gave me great light so it will make the film look brighter (rather than dull). I now have to film the school scenes. I need to make sure I can get all the people I need at the same time so I can film properly. I also need to do the Scenes at my house, however I have yet to organise a day when all the children can come together to film. The filming at my house shouldn't take too long as there is only a couple of shots that i need to do, however the school filming will take longer as there are many shots that I have to film in various areas of the school.

Planning for Filming!

To make sure we get everything ready for filming our video there are a few things that are essential to prepare before starting. These are: Production Schedule, Assets list and Shot list. The Production Schedule shows the timewewant to film during the day and the dates we actually want to film on. This is important so the filming can be spread out over a few days or weeks to make sure you have enough time to cover every scene.
The asset list shows all the props that the performers will need in the scenes. This must be down to the tiniest detail because it is vital that nothing is missed out, as it could cause complications on the day of filming if something is forgotten.
The shot list is a list that shows every shot that needed to be filmed. This is also important for the planning of filming the video because it will help the person filming to be more organised and know what comes next when filming instead of trying to figure it out on the day.

Here are Screenshots of my production schedule, Assets list and shot list.
